A message from Jamilah Edwards
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Since joining CFAN five years ago, I have had the privilege and honor of walking alongside many of you as you worked tirelessly to inform the community about the complexities and challenges associated with FASD. I’ve been inspired as you challenge people to examine what inclusion really means, and as you challenge yourself to be better service providers, champions, parents, caregivers, and advocates for yourselves and those affected by this disability.
As many of you are already aware, I have recently resigned from the position of Executive Director of CFAN. This has been a difficult decision born of my desire to be more available to support the needs of my growing family. Unfortunately, the timing of this decision has not allowed me to say goodbye to many of you in person, so I’m truly thankful to CFAN for allowing me this opportunity to say farewell to you in writing.
Because of you and what I have learned from you, I will always carry this work with me and will always be an ally. I am forever grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to serve with you.
If any of you would like to connect with me personally please feel free to do so; the CFAN team has my contact information and my permission to share it with you, if desired.
With the deepest gratitude,
Jamilah Edwards
